Señor Gato is a Caribbean jazz ensemble that has developed a reputation for tastefully merging Latin rhythms from Cuba, Brazil, Venezuela and Puerto Rico with North American jazz and funk. Percussionist Dan Egger-Belandria initiated the project 1999 in Colorado and has since extended its reach to Austin, where he now resides.

Señor Gato performs in Austin and Denver as a musical vision that captures the flavor of Latin jazz tradition. Because the band appeals to jazz aficionados, dance-inspired couples and children alike, Señor Gato has enjoyed warm response across ethnic and demographic boundaries in clubs, cafes, schools, festivals and private events.
